Creating private space with bodies in a collective way
The project investigates surveillance and the lack of private space in China, developing a collection of inflatable transformer costumes. When the human bodies huddle together in their costumes, creating a safe space to protect the children from the psychological pressure derived from surveillance in China.
Beijing 798 Art Zone renewal plan
The project aims to create a platform that addresses the issue of monotony in the setting of the 798 art zone in Beijing by viewers creating their own avatars in space. In the context of the society with a lack of individual identity, the strategy is not to evade or outright reject this trend. Instead, it is to remain vigilant in the critical assessment of its symbolic significance. Furthermore, the project aims to actively contribute to the transformation of the spiritual atmosphere within the 798 Art Zone.
A glance at the path of modernization in China
I regard myself as a time traveller to the narrative life in the eras. Every two decades, time slices are utilized to define future social development through deconstruction and montage. I hope to reproduce the collective memory of this age from a micro-historical level of individual and family narratives, having a glance at the path of modernization in China.
A satire on Social Darwinism within the context of political authority.
It is based on the social event that deportation of foreigners in Beijing “low-end population” by the government in 2017, the government's handling of it have triggered damaging press row. In this project, I take the tone of the press to show the satire. In my fiction, In order to temporarily ease the attack on the image of rights, the government decided to establish a temporary residence to accommodate some people who were homeless due to the deportation.
Building A World Of Virtual Existence - A Bevorstand State Of Demise And Death
It is a digital post-life world where one could get to decide how future generations will interact with one’s dead self.
Through digitalization, finite life is transformed into infinite existence by death. When the mourners step into the virtual cemetery, the narrative turns from the private perspective into a public one. Collective opinions will be generated about this person so that everyone can re-locate their positions in death from the public narrative.
